Talent
- Chef Brycen Woodley - Born and raised in small town Brycen Woodley, lowa, Chef Woodley grew up with the culinary traditions of the Midwest, including hunting and fishing along with the
inclination towards seasonal. local and traditional. These would soon meld with many similar but new experiences gathered from summers and holidays with close family in North Carolina and Virginia. There he would begin his journey with Southern fare and penchant for hospitality. Eventually he was drawn into professional cooking where he has made his way for the last 17 years. Chef Woodley moved from lowa to Virginia full time in 2007 working his way through restaurants in Virginia Beach and Richmond while attending college. Before long he found his way to the Jefferson Hotel where he spent 8 years, moving from TJ's restaurant to the banquet kitchen and finally to Lemaire. There, he was able to delve ever further into the depths of the Southern canon while working on perfecting technique and style. In time, he would grow into a management position as Sous Chef and eventually Chef de Cuisine under Executive Chef Patrick Willis. In the fall of 2021, Chef Woodley made the jump from The Jefferson to Executive Chef at The Stables on Belmont in the Museum District. He brings the wealth of Southern fine dining experience garnered from Lemaire along with his lowa roots to present a laid back, approachable, yet elevated and dynamic take on traditional piedmont fare.
