The events below are considered the Virginia Wine Expo's signature events because they offer exceptional, unparalleled experiences, are extensively curated, and are held at unique, beautiful venues.  These events are all-inclusive, educational and immensely enjoyable!

Walk-Around Grand Tastings

  • The biggest and most popular event on the schedule 
  • Held at beautiful Main Street Station 
  • Two sessions on Saturday, March 5, and one session on Sunday, March 6
  • VIP and General Admission sessions available
  • Featuring hundreds of Virginia wines, spirits and ciders, wines from our 2022 Guest Regions of Napa Valley and Argentina, and artisan specialty food and products
  • Includes a silent online Auction via our online bidding platform; items will be presented online and on tables throughout the exhibit hall
  • A walk-around event; some seating available


  • A celebration of global smoked cuisine, whiskey and wine
  • Held Friday, March 4, at beautiful Main Street Station
  • VIP and General Admission sessions available
  • A walk-around style event with available seating
  • Features 80+ whiskeys from Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, other U.S. states, and Scotland + dozens of top-scoring Virginia, Napa Valley and Argentinian wines
  • Includes gaming, live online Auction via our online bidding platform; items will be presented online and on tables throughout the SMOKED! event space
  • Live music

POP NAPA! Sparkling & Champagne Celebration

  • A celebration of sparkling and Champagne wines, paired with seasonal, Napa Valley-inspired cuisine (red and white still wines will also be served)
  • Held Wednesday, March 6, at the historic Common House Richmond
  • Keynote presentation by Common House Sommelier, Erin Scala
  • A walk-around event with available seating
  • Live music


  • A brilliant multi-course, sit-down wine dinner preceded by a charming sparkling reception
  • Held Saturday, Feb. 26, at stunning Upper Shirley Vineyards with panoramic views of the James River
  • Keynote speaker
  • Highlights Upper Shirley wines and seasonal Virginia cuisine (includes Napa Valley wine as well)
  • Live music

Icons of Virginia, Napa Valley & Argentina Signature Wine Dinner

  • A unique, sit-down, multi-course wine dinner featuring Virginian-, Californian- and Argentinian-inpired dishes paired with exceptional wines from those regions
  • Held on Thursday, March 3, at stunning Dover Hall
  • Keynote presentation by Dover Hall's sommelier and chef
  • Sparkling reception and tour of Dover Hall precedes the dinner
